Danny Lemos Danny Lemos was in radio when Nixon was still in the White House. Radio has changed, (so has the White House, for that matter) but Lemos has evolved with it. As President and “Chief Creative Officer” of Lemoskin Productions, an internet and terrestrial radio content providing company, Danny Lemos has a rich background as a stand-up comic and comedy writer from which to draw material. Born an identical twin in East Los Angeles, he is one of nine siblings. His parents stopped at 9, “ he says, “because my dad read somewhere that every 10th child in the world is born Chinese.” Danny was a Jesuit seminarian through his college years, where he became Promotions Manager at KXLU-FM. He hosted “The Sounds Of Swing” a weekly big band radio show, “mostly because they had a huge library of swing music and the host had quit.” Soon Lemos gave up the collar to unleash himself on listeners playing hard rock on the now legendary KMET-FM. Within two years he crossed town to KIIS-FM where he was Music Director for three years. It was at KIIS-FM, that Lemos developed his skills as a programmer and a comedy writer. Lemos wrote, produced and voiced comedy characters for the “Rick Dees In The Morning” show. His alter ego, Chuy from La Puente (the birthplace of K-Mart!) became well known both on the air and on stage. He next produced “The Weekly Top 40 Countdown with Rick Dees” and moved into writing music and comedy specials for ABC Television, one of which was nominated for a Writers Guild award. An experienced stand-up comic, audience warm up comedian and radio host, Lemos has hosted a magazine format show on radio, programmed in San Jose and San Francisco, and hosted the first “lounge” radio show on KGIL/Los Angeles. Lemos received L.A. Theatre acclaim for his one-man shows “Chuy’s Choice” and “I’m Still Here, Now What?” and he’s currently working on his second book of essays. Danny Lemos hosts a weekly fitness podcast, “The Bodcast”, which is distributed via iTunes Music Store, as well as a daily ½ hour radio internet show, “Homecast” also available as a daily podcast via iTunes.
